Hi there,
I'm closing on my new home in a few weeks in Waxhaw and was wondering if anyone can suggest quality furniture outlets in the area...
Thanks

furniture outlet
Flyingscottsman,
Got the brochure from hickory. If this place is what's considered discount, I'm either going to shop elsewhere or trade in a kid for that new couch..lol One leather sectional I took a fancy to cost $6800 without the fancy pillows. The pillows cost an additional $680. At that price, I may have to go to the AY line. (assemble yourself). Maybe High Point is better?

I got the brochure from hickory as well, was not that impressed have been told to go to high point.
You have to make a choice to go cheap or quality (no such thing as cheap furniture)
Cheaper quality is rooms-to-go, value city & ashley.
The quality stuff is thomasville etc. you get what you pay for.
Several co-workers have told me take a look in High Point, I have a feeling I will be going to the Vaule City route.

I went with a friend to pick up furniture at Furnitureland South in High Point. The place is huge. I did not see that many deals until I went to the Clearance Center. Great prices and lots of selection. Might be worth the look. I have also heard that on highway 321 from Hickory to Lenoir and beyond are lots of Mom 'n Pops type places that buy over runs, 2nds, etc and you can find some really good deals.
There is a place in Charlotte called "Purple Picket", the Monroe Road location is closed now, but they have a big showroom in Pineville. They had over runs, and 2nds. I would call their selection "Bordello meets Las Vegas" .
But you might be able to find one or two pieces amongst the junk.
Have fun on your search!

they have dillards and belk which are similar to our filenes and jcpenny lol I am interested in hearing opinions on where to get furniture as well. We have bobs discount furniture in new england and well they **** on just about any discount furniture store I've ever heard of or seen. Our entire living room was about 1500 dollars and its one of the comfiest couches I've ever sat or slept on. It included our coffee table, matching oversized chair, end tables, and lamps. Decent bedrooms go for about 1200-1500 and nice full bedrooms go for about 2000..I might just have to buy a bunch of stuff here and uhaul it down with me when I move huh?

Quality is one thing - $7000 for a bleeping couch is crazy!
