Any recommendations or comments about internet access providers (or lack thereof) in Berewick?

Roadrunner? I don't really know about others. I suppose you could have a satellite provider. I didn't know we had much of a choice...

I'm thinking about Satellite, but it's one of the more expensive options and Im not sure if it's considered more reliable than DSL. Is the Road Runner service reliable?

RoadRunner is quite reliable -- at least, it has been in the Ballantyne area in Charlotte when I was over there. I work from home, and so reliable internet is quite important.

The latency (delay) on satellite internet is pretty terrible, and I'd rank it below DSL in terms of reliability and speed.

we have roadrunner and have never had a problem. I don't have any experience w/ satellite, so I don't know what to tell you about that. The only downside about roadrunner is Time Warner's customer service stinks, but since we've not had issues, we don't have to deal with them much. I'm in Berewick btw.

If you live in Berewick, all of the cable and telephone infrastructure is brand new. You should have reliable service with either Bellsouth or Time Warner.

If you go with TW, be prepared to have your installation service call go all kinds of sideways.

Default Finally got back online

I went with AT&T. They were the only one's who offered a decently priced DSL service with no phone line required.

So far so good, up/down speed are pretty close to advertised, which can actually be a challenge.
