Do they have the full menu? I always liked getting their shrimp po'boy when we visit northern VA relatives.

Was at Concord Mills at lunch time today, but the line at Popeye's was way too long, so I passed.

Anyone know when Popeye's near Carolina Mall in Concord is opening? Its a standalone store across the street from Starbucks. I just saw it, thought is was open, but it said "Employee Training was going on."

Sure, Popeyes is a spicy change, but as to me when it comes to fried chicken, I'll just stick with Prices.
With a "Dive" type appearance, I love the fact it's a sleeper on all accounts based on that alone and probably, the most celebrated one in the US.

If you've never been, just google it. Then try it. I guarantee you'll be hooked.

Mostly because Popeyes isn't prevalent in the metro right now. I mean, Popeyes is ok, like Bojangles and once there are 5-10 popeyes in the area, the novelty will wear off.

Popeye's is better than Bojangles IMO... I went to Concord Mall this weekend but the line was too long.

I agree and prefer Popeyes over Bojangles. They just need some freestanding locations because it is quite inconvenient to go the mall just to eat. Especially Concord Mills. Unless you're into lots of walking, crowded parking, and long lines.

There's a free-standing Popeye's opening in Mooresville at exit 36/I-77. On Hwy 150, where Jack-in-the-Box used to be. It's just about ready.

Very good news for that area. Wish they would do the same in the Greenville/Spartanburg area, where several JITB stores closed over a year ago and still stand empty. Hopefully more Popeyes franchises will start to open. Now if they could just add a few Roy Rogers I would really be happy. They are now successfully expanding in Northern Virginia and Maryland. Now they need to come to the Carolinas. But happy to hear about Popeyes.

I think the chicken at Popeyes tends to be more consistent or "better" but I prefer the dirty rice (Bojangles) over the cajun rice (Popeyes). Definitely like the red beans and rice at Popeyes but prefer Bojangles biscuits and seasoned fries. Of course there are other selections at Popeyes not available at Bojangles and vice versa. Seems the customer service at every Popeyes I've ever been to (primarily the DC area) is super slow.
Popeyes is good chicken (but like Bojangles, can be hit or miss at some locations....at least around DC having lived and worked there for years). Like anything else, once the novelty wears off, it'll be just another chicken chain but nice to have the option in the area.

We drove by it last night and was surprised to see it! We'd just eaten at Chick-Fil-A, so I didn't look too close, but it looked like it was open. May have to plan my lunch there Saturday when I'm out shopping.
