Glad you mentioned KFC. Here near Mt. Island Lake we have two chicken places within a half mile but no KFC closer than Belmont. I don't think I've been in 5-10 years. Maybe it's time to make the drive.

I like BoJangles overall but last time I ordered a box it didn't sit well.

KFC is good when cooked right but their chains are so inconsistent and I love hearing "we are out of original" anytime I decide to give it a shot.

I worked at a Bojangles 30 years ago, but can't begin to imagine what you mean by that comment.

I think chicken poking is illegal in NC. Unless you're a rooster.

I have no words...
I love Popeye's, but I am truly shocked and amazed at the length of this thread.

KFC quality declined when they started building combo stores with Taco Bell, A&W, and Long John Silvers. When they were stand alone Kentucky Fried Chicken stores they were very good. You can still find some good stores around, but they are inconsistent. I do like their KFC Buffet stores.

Thank you for that needed clarification. I'd spent a few minutes trying to figure out how poking a chicken might improve its flavor, but nothing I came up with seemed plausible.

That's one of those things that shouldn't need to be illegal.

Even the name of the restaurant is now wrong.

Repent, all ye Chicken Pokers! And be sure to also tell the chicken servers at your favorite Popeye's to repent their chicken pokin' ... even if all that chicken pokin' does make 'em seem just a tad more tender. Ya gotta REPENT!!! This is a family website.
