Popeyes is ok but ranking it much above Bojangles is beyond me...maybe too much time and experience with the shoddy food and service with inner city popeyes in DC....nothing to brag about.

Is there a Popeye's hiding somewhere or in a small town near Charlotte?
I see there ads all the time on WBTV.

Zaxby's was a waste of time. We liked Bojangle's, but prefer Popeye's.

I have heard the same about Popeyes in DC. The one in Concord Mills and the ones in ATL/SC are great. You should try one of those. I would rather have fried chicken from Burger King before I eat Bojo's chicken. However, there has to be a demand for their, b/c they pretty much own Charlotte.

I looked at the Popeye's website. There are two in Concord.

I almost bumped this thread yesterday, as I had driven by the location near the Carolina Mall. It is a regular sized standalone location. I think someone had said earlier (and also according to their website) there is also one in Mooresville?

Supposedly there is one planned for Eastway near the old Walmart. But as of now there is one outside Carolina Mall in Concord, one in Concord Mills food court, one at the old Jack in the Box in Mooresville, and one in the food court at Winthrop in Rock Hill. Which is an improvement over a few years ago when there were none. And to me, their chicken is better than Bojangles.

I know about the proposed one on Eastway... but haven't seen or heard anything since the rumored permit.
