I was waiting to make left turn onto Sharon Ln from Sharon Rd today. There was a lot of cars coming so I had to wait. Then there was only one car coming and he started to slow down bc the light was turning yellow. I waited to make sure he was stopping then I figured I could make my left turn. By that time the light was turning red, but I decided to go anyway. Rather than waiting for the left turn signal to turn green. Well while I was about to go, this guy behind me BLARES his horn!! I didn't understand the rush because the left turn signal would have turned green next. His horn scared the crap out of me.

What would you do that in that situation?

Let it go. No harm no foul. Bask in the knowledge that you did the right thing, and that guy behind you is just an idiot.

I say it depends...did you claim the lane? Because I get very upset when people do not claim the lane.

My favorite quote from Plato:

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle"

Me too. You never know about another driver's mental stability. Proving a point is just not worth it these days.

What do you mean by "claim the lane"? She had to wait to make sure she wasn't going to get hit by oncoming traffic. If you are already pulled halfway out into the intersection you have to go so you are not blocking the cross traffic.

Personally, I probably would have flipped him the bird but I am a hothead and that is probably not the right thing to do.

Being from FL too, I am pretty zen about traffic...I'm happy as long as someone doesn't cut across 4 lanes of traffic without signaling to turn left.
