ooh I hope we get some snow this winter. Kids can't wait to use sled's bought for 2 winters ago and still in garage. LOL. My mother tells me that if the holly bushes have lots of berries it means a hard winter - mine are full already.

Thanks, Ani! Nor'easters are the only source of "significant" snow in this area. The last couple of years the meteorologists on KYW news are giving specific weather information for Charlotte & Raleigh, but the nor'easters have all been rain events, so wondered about the snowy versions.

Since I'll be down there about the beginning of November, this thread caught my eye. If I hear the word snow, I'll be heading for the nearest food store........

Ani, I'm coming pretrained. In Philly & South Jersey it's bread, milk, & eggs, unless it's a nor'easter, then it's just plain strip the shelves.

Hee Hee. You would not believe how fast they get stripped here. Have you been in on our Pop Tart discussions? For some reason, everyone grabs up Pop Tarts here, LOL!!!!

I believe it, Ani! I learned to join the rush when I stopped in to pick up a couple of things on my way home from work, one night, before a nor'easter & you could have put everything in the Pathmark in 1 or 2 shopping bags! I ended up going to a Wawa
