You may want to seek the advice of a good buyers agent.

Default If I were you I would not move to Stowe Creek.

Stowe Creek was built by Beazer and McCarr who has long been sold of the community. Those two builders have very bad reputations on their business practices and not so great building. If I were you I would check out Berewick. It is close to Stowe Creek yet it's a master plan community will feature a "downtown" area just like Baxter Village and Brikdale. The developer of Birkdale is Pappas Properties and it currently working on Berewick. The home builders are MI Homes who make a nice semi-costume home, Shea, McCarr, Dr Horton KB Homes, Bella Sera just to name a few. All with different price points. So if you really like Stowe Creek I would check out Berewick.

If you have not signed a contract you may want consider taking a ride around the area especially on side of the side streets. Many of the houses outside of developments have bars on the doors and windows for a reason. This area has not done well aver the past several years. Many house near the airport and south down 160 have been shuttered and torn down. The few developments that are there have high crime isssues. As far as the article I think you will find in the near future that may of the builders "have given mortgages to anyone with a pulse" , as stated by one the big builder. Just take a look at the foreclosure and you will quickly get the picture.

due to all of the issues with Beazer lately, we have backed out of our contract at Stowe Creek and will NOT be building a house in that neighborhood.

we have signed a contract to build a KB Home at Hamilton Lakes.

High crime issues may be a little stong, I wouldn't classify Berewick as high crime and it is in the area. Stowe Creek does look pretty bad though.
