Just like there are no white people in Africa, apparently.

It seems that ACORN tends to align themselves with the Democratic party because that is the party which provides the most solutions they agree with, however the direct correlation is specious at best. I'd say your guy uptown was being a bit racist himself, based on what I know about the aims of ACORN.
I suppose you understood my message majorly? First what are you talking about in your first statement. It makes no sense. Secondly, what guy uptown are you talking about. I never mentioned a guy downtown. Did you confuse my posting with someone else?

Their roots are from the "new left" anyone remember that?

I don't know, Ultra. Honestly, my friend (female) also witnessed only black folks being approached by the ACORN rep and my friend is black. She found it rather insulting - like - we don't need to talk to whites cause they are already registered voters - only blacks don't register. She felt that was stereotypical and presumptuous.

I agree that ACORN aligns w/ DEM party b/c of philosophy re: solutions in communities. Like you - I always assumed a poor community would have all races, not exclusively one race. At least - that is my experience.

It seems like a futile battle going after the African American vote when 90%+ are already voting for him.

Explain what you mean by "European American" then. Do you mean "white people?" Because people say "African American" instead of "black", except that's a commonly accepted term. I've never heard anyone use "European American" before.

And oh, I'm sorry, you said festival in the park, which is DILWORTH not uptown. Heavens, how could I have made such a grave mistake? I totally see how you wouldn't understand what I'm talking about then.

Do you see those two as equal? Because "new left" was more in the Marxist/Socialist/Anti-establishment, almost anarchic movement. Hardly the "Democrats" in the traditional political party sense, which is what everyone is saying ACORN is now.

Drew Griffin is on Lou Dobbs right now discussing this matter. Boards of Election all over the country, he says, are very very concerned about all the phony voter registrations generated by ACORN. This is very concerning.

Well, I honestly never thought ACORN was aligned w/ a party - in fact - since they receive Federal funding - I would think they are not supposed to be aligned w/ any party. ACORN actually is an umbrella that has 75 groups under it.

Lou Dobbs is saying that Obama's campaign has paid ACORN $800,000 for voter registration. I had not heard that before.

Right, that's what I was saying. That particular solicitor was actually being a bit racist himself. The disenfranchised cover all races. And that I believed the aims of ACORN were to help all the poor and those with limited resources.

It's really a shame when an organization with a good idea behind it gets its ideals corrupted by the faults of people with their own stupid agenda and moronic ideas about how to get things done. (It's the same reason I can't stand PETA.)

They are in no way "all" democrats. But in fact it's very obvious "some" do lean towards collectivism.
