If you're talking about the bagel place by the Harris Teeter, I chalk it's failure up as Karma! The owners of the multi location Original NY Bagels (their main store is over by Cartucci's) used to be in that location by H-T.
However, when their original lease was up a few years back, their "partner" forced them out of that location and he tried to continue the business that they had worked so hard to build up. They opened the shop on Hwy 150 out by the Steam Station in Sherrills Ford, another in Denver, and then opened the location by Cartucci's. They are doing pretty well.
I was actually happy to see the clientele follow them to the new location and that the H-T location went belly up!
BTW, I see that that Original NY Bagels is opening a new location in the shopping center off Exit 23 where Friendly's is too!

I hate going there now that they don't have a bookstore. What kind of mall doesn't have a bookstore?

The new stuff was ok, but I really miss the Intimate Bookshop with its wooden floors that creaked.
SouthPark has come a long way since this:

Joseph-Beth books closed late last year. Traditional bookstores are sadly becoming obsolete due to more and more of that market moving online.

Really - Hotel Charlotte! While my food experiences weren't fabulous, the owners and staff are so nice. My DH will be disappointed, he didn't make it through the 100 beers yet. We're pretty new to Charlotte so we can't say that we were regulars, but did stop at least once a month.

Southpark seems to have more womens clothing & shoe stores than any other mall in the area.

I ditto that. Back in the late 70's/80's Intimate Bookshop and Record Bar were great hangout places for teens at Southpark. BTW, if you want that feel-good creaky floor store, go to Outdoor Provisions at Park Rd Shopping Center.
