Default Is there a doctor in the house?

So, back on October 6th I posted about ways to find an apartment in smaller units and not a "big box" complex. Have found a place right near the intersection of The Plaza and Central Avenue and very convenient to where I work uptown. Thanks once more for all replies.

Now to the next phase of things! Now that I know where I will be living and working, I'd like to find doctors in the area and am soliciting any firsthand recommendations for the following. Ideally, the doctor would be located in Plaza/Midwood, Elizabeth, Uptown or other nearby neighborhood. But if the doctor is the best of the best, I'd consider risking traffic jams to get to them! I prefer smaller practices than huge practices but would consider any I guess...

Allergist

Psychiatrist (not necessarily for ongoing "talking cure" sessions)

Dentist

Optometrist/general eye doctor

General Practitioner/Internal Medicine

I'm pretty sure that's all I need. Err, for now!

Many thanks in advance,

Marc

P.S. I will be getting Aetna health insurance through work in a couple of months if that info is pertinent to the choice of the above.

You will be able to look on your Aetna "choice of providers" (or something similar) for the "allowed" doctors in the area...and, then, maybe you should post those names and see if anyone has had the opportunity to frequent them.

I use Carolinas Medical Center Doctors downton in the BB&T building. Anne Barnard is my GP and she is great! I also have United Healthcare, so, I don't know if she is an "approved Aetna choice" or not.

Best Doctors, which polls physicians nationwide, received record responses for the 2008-09 list. Doctors are asked whom they would choose if they or a member of their family needed a specialist. Fewer than 5% of North Carolina's 29,000 licensed physicians made the list.

I did a thread on this article and divided the fields of medical practice into sections.
There is many in the Charlotte area for you to choose from.
I hope this helps

Very useful list, I will have to give it a thorough looksee. Thanks, as well as to any other respondent to my query.
