I need to have my engagement ring resized. It was purchased from an out of state jeweler, so I want to find a jeweler here who is reputable and does good work (and trustworthy, too, I hear too many horror stories about switching the diamond, etc.). Any recs?

Does your diamond not have an engraved serial number on it? Or no mapping? Get your diamond mapped. You will have peace of mind about anyone switching it. I am sure an appraiser could explain this process . . . and do it for you.

This is great advice. I wish I had known about that many years ago when the diamond in my engagement ring was switched. I never knew which jeweler did it. I had it resized and reset at two different jewelers. No way to prove it so I was just out of luck.
I know this great guy Maximus, he does really great re-sizing with his teeth but you have to feed him too if you want the job done right.
