Wonderful people have answered my question on where to search for a good retirement place in the Charlotte area. My husband and I would like to come down from Virginia sometimes during the month of April to look at different places. Does anyone know about vacation condo to rent for 10-15 days. Thank you

Annemarie, I don't know of any condo's by the week like that, but I do have another suggestion. There is a wonderful extended stay/resort type place in the Ballantyne area called Staybridge Suites. They are conveniently located to I485 for getting around the city and also just very nice. Here is their info in case you are interested in checking them out:

Staybridge Suites
15735 John J Delaney Dr
Charlotte, NC 28277

Default Residence Inn

We stayed in the Residence Inn in Huntersville and found it very nice. It's well kept and everyone was friendly. Also the breakfast is great.

Davidson Village Inn - Davidson, NC (Lake Norman Area) Davidson is a sleepy little college town, you'll enjoy your stay. I believe rooms start around $120 - $150 per night.

Other than coming to look at homes what else do you guys enjoy doing? This might help with location for your stay.

We dont know the area of Charlotte at all. Our daughter and son-in-law are talking about relocating there so we're interested to see what is available for retirement. Our grandaugter went there last January with some friends. She liked it a lot.
We like to do long walk in the countryside, bird watching etc ..

Default visit

Anne Marie,

I know you'll be busy while you're here but you MUST check out Dale Webb's Sunn City in Lancaster, SC. I'd be interested to hear what you think.

My wife and I are going in March (for 8 days) and are going to stay in the Suburban Extended Stay Pineville Hotel (there is also one in huntersville). We chose them because they were centrally located to where we were going to be looking, they had a kitchenette, and the price was extrememly resonable and they had high speed internet connection.
