Looking for a nice and full tree 8-8 1/2 feet high. Most corner lots seem to have much smaller ones.
We live in Union County so where can we go for the BIG ones? BTW Elikane, which Food Lion did you go to?

I saw the $29 tree at the Food Lion in Waxhaw off 16. To me they look just as good as the more expensive trees that are the same size. Maybe I'm not a tree connesuir but I can't tell the difference. They're pretty tall too, about 7 feet.

I know it's a lot of effort, but if you forget about that aspect (and perhaps the $$$ aspect) there is nothing better than cutting down your own tree. When we lived in Ithaca ,NY in the early 70's we always cut down our tree. We put the kids (8 mos and 4 years) on a sled and set out on a snowy day to find the perfect tree. It was magical - cold and blustery - a mini-blizzard. We may have had more perfect trees from HD or the neighborhood church in Charlotte, but never have we had the memories. The then four-year-old still retells the tale each year.

Come up to the high country and make a family memory. There are tree farms in Ashe, Avery, and Watauga that you can pick your own tree. They will have someone cut it for you there.
