Moving to Charlotte this summer. My 2 children go to a parochial school in Ohio. We would like to send them to Holy Trinity when we move. The school is located at 3100 Park Rd, just north of Woodlawn. We had 1 realtor tell us the drive from Fort Mill would only be a 1/2 hour on a normal day. We had another realtor basically say we have to stay in the Matthews area. My wife drives the kids to and from school and tries to stay as involved as possible with the kids. She also is a freelance copywriter who works out of the house so I am trying to minimalize her drive. Does anyone have any estimates on how long it will take to get to the school from Fort Mill, Waxhall, Weddington, or Matthews area?

Thanks
Mike

Yes, I can help you As much as I love Fort Mill you won't make it in 30 minutes to Holy Trinity from there. And you certainly would never make it from Waxhaw or Weddington either in less than about 50 minutes, on a good day. I would definitely recommend Matthews, but the not all sections of it. You would need to stay in the section of Matthews along Hwy 51. If you go "outside" 51 toward Union county the ride will be at least 45 minutes, if not more. Tell me your price range and I can suggest some particular neighborhoods - I actually have a few good ideas (Not a realtor by the way, just a fellow Catholic)

We would be looking for about 4000 sq feet with 4 bedrooms 3-4 baths. 1/2 acre at least. We don't really know the market in Charlotte to know the price. Do you have children that go / went to Holy trinity?

Hi Mike Yes, both my children went to Holy Trinity - one more recently than the other. If you plan to be in Charlotte beyond your children's middle school years you want to definitely live in the south Charlotte/Matthews area for convenience to Catholic High in the future. Catholic high is a college prep school with fantastic sports programs. 4000 feet in Charlotte will put you well into the $400's and way up - is that what you had in mind?

Mike, a half acre will be very hard to find in your price range. A third of an acre, maybe

Mike please go to this realtor website www.allentate.com and put in this MLS number 653134. It will show you a house that is much smaller than you are looking for, but in a prime location. This one would be literally 5-7 minutes to Holy Trinity in morning traffic. (I only picked that website because it is so easy to navigate and lets you look for things by MLS easiest).

Here is another in the subdivision Beverly Woods which in the SouthPark area - very desirable. Again, not as large as you wanted, just trying to show you what you can get close in. This one would be about 15 minutest to Holy Trinity. 650593

Okay, last one This one is just under half an acre! AND, this is a great neighborhood in the Southpark area - good commute to the school and very desirable location.
614336

AND try this one...further out on Providence Road going toward Matthews - another really good neighborhood. The square footage still isn't as much as you are looking for, but the lot size is almost half an acre 639777
