What are they fees? Entrance I just read is $18 discount at Harris Teeter. But what about the cost for food? beer? souvenirs? etc. entertainment?

Are you asking if food, beer and sounveirs are free? The answer is no. If are saying that this is too much for a little culture, then I must assume that you haven't taken the family to a basketball or football game lately. It isn't something that one attends every week, but it is nice to at least take the children or yourself once.

I always used to go in Florida (Sarasota & Broward County) and also Tuxedo NY. These were always held in warm weather --- I was going to go this weekend, but its only going to be about 62 degrees out ---which is too cold for me to spend the day outside and certainly too cold for my serving wench costume :-).

Food items are in the $4 to $8 range, beer is $4/$5 depending on the brand. (Guiness, IPA's, some micros are 5, most others less) Pretty reasonable compared to other such events.

The comedy acts do not get paid by the festival, so they hope for a tip afterward, but it is not mandatory. We usually throw a back or 2 in the hat. Souvenirs are a bit on the high side, IMO, but we're not real big on them. Some of the handcrafted jewelry is reasonable if you're into that.

We go every year, stay from opening to closing, and always wish we had more time. For a full day of entertainment, the $18 is a bargain.

Plantersville/Tomball Texas - Hated paying $18 per person only to spend $100 once inside! Waited 3.5 hours in the same parking spot when trying to leave (which ruined our Sat. night)! We will never go back!

My Wife and I went last weekend. Overall we had a great time... we used to attend the Maryland festival too but the Carolina is better IMO.
