Well, we just counted up ours . . . and we got 8 today so far. The last one was a robo call from Hank Williams, Jr. I am so serious. This one was just urging us to get out and vote.

Hank, I luv ya, but do not call here again, unless you are giving away something really good - like season tickets at the speedway. Really.
My 10 year old answered that Hank Williams, Jr. call and hung up after a minute and started doing funny impersonations. She has her strong political views and was making fun of everything he was saying. At least we had a good laugh at one of the calls, but I can't wait till today is over.

I often talk with people from other countries on a daily basis for my job. Suffice it to say that it doesn't help their opinion of the US population. The news over there reports the whole news because they don't have a horse in the race and the people are shocked that people chose their elected officials based on the opinions of celebs.

They don't like us regarding the housing issues either, but that's a different story.

Does anyone know anything about this site?

www.StopPoliticalCalls.org

It looks like there's an uprising to help this issue.

I would be very skeptical of it since they are charging people to be on their "list". I also don't think they have any authority, since the Fed has already decided not to include political contact on the actual national do not call registry.

I thought it was too good to be true.

I would be very wary. And reality they can't. How would they know whats a political # and what is not. I know we all hate the numerous calls and mailings, but really was it that bad for 30 days?

That's what I thought too. I thought everyone had received a million calls and what good could possibly come of it. But, I decided to try for my chosen candidate, and was really really surprised by how many people were grateful for the call because 1)they appreciate a live person calling and 2)they had questions about voting

So I guess I'm saying it's worth annoying the rest of you for those that DO want the calls!

*but, thank god it is all over now!
