Need a Ortho Surgeon for ACL
I just moved here this summer. This past Sunday I believe I have torn my 3rd ACL . The second in my left knee. I am searching for the best. If anyone knows who He/She are, or whom they would recommend, that would be fantastic. I am looking to get this over as soon as humanly possible. I know what is needed and what to expect. Thank you for your time.

I ruptured my Achilles Tendon two years ago and had surgery done at OrthoCarolina - I would highly recommend them. Frankly, I don't remember the name of the doctor who performed the surgery, but I can tell you that each doc I dealt with, as well as Ortho's rehab services, were outstanding.

There is an excellent doctor in University City at CMC - University called Dr. Ohl. My partner has had 2 knee surgeries by this doctor and has had very good results with both surgeries. I think he might also be part of OrthoCarolina. GOOD LUCK!

I had my ACL replacement done a few years ago by Dr. Jerry Barron, and he is THE BEST.
He is now here:
Barron • Homesley Orthopedic Specialist
I had some concerns going in because I had never had surgery before. One of the first questions I asked him was, "So how many of these have you done?" His answer was, "Today? Three. Over the last 15 years...I have no idea."
His answers to all my questions put me at ease, he let me know all my options up front, and what to expect, and convinced me that he was the best man for the job. (And believe me, I'm a tough customer!) When time for surgery came, his bedside manner was just as excellent. My parents came with me to the surgery center, and he treated them with respect and compassion too.
He was at one time the team physician for Davidson U., Winthrop, UNC, and the Charlotte Sting. He is also now the team physician for the Charlotte Checkers, Queens University, Charlotte Original Rugby Club, Lancaster High School and Richmond County High Schools.
My surgery was laparoscopic, and now I just have little scars. I have not had any trouble with this knee since the surgery 5 years ago. I can't recommend him highly enough!
Please note: This experience is in STARK contrast to the experience I had with one of the doctors who is now at OrthoCarolina, as that doctor was who I was referred to first by my primary. I tried asking questions and he seemed annoyed. When I said I wasn't sure what to do about the surgery, because I never had surgery before, and I had some concerns, he THREW some pamphlets down at me, and said, "Well, do whatever you want to do." And left the room. When he didn't come back, I had to find my own way out to checkout. So if you DO decide to go with OrthoCarolina, feel free to DM me and I will tell you which doctor that was so maybe you don't have the same experience.

I second that about Dr. Jerry Barron ....I had my first ACL repair in Florida, moved to Charlotte and on my third day here tore my ACL for the second time in a year coming down our stairs!!....I was so upset. I had no idea who to see and found Dr. Barron just from my own research. He is patient, kind and takes the time to listen to what you are concerned about for surgery.
