Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on an affordable dog trainer in the huntersville area?

Thanks,
Pete

Our vet recommends dog haven agility
DogHaven - It's all about the dogs!

I have not used it, I took my to Petco. It was okay, came away with alot of information and our dog did learn alot. She was very unsocialable, this helped her -- towards the end.

I got my puppy in July. I took her to Petco in H'ville for puppy kindergarten. I wasnt' too impressed with our particular trainer, sorry to say, but we did learn some basics. Then for Basic Obedience 101, I found CrazyDaisy (Crazy Daisy Dog Training LLC - Home) The trainer seemed more in tune with the dogs to help train us. I'm not sure if she began her group class(es) for this time... her classes are held outdoors in the evenings and it was getting pretty cold by the end of our last class.
If anyone reading this thread has any info on agility training, I hope that they chime in. <hint, hint> ;-)

I'm not entirely familiar with the geography of that area, but Fran helped us with one of our dogs when she used to work at Pet Smart in Hickory. She's got her own place now in Lake Norman Lake Norman Natural Dog Training

Tell her George the Saint Bernard sent ya!

We adopted a dog about a year ago. She was a little over a year old and had a history of abuse and neglect. She didn't know her name and everything frightened her. Honestly, petsmart training, specifically the petsmart in Matthews, worked brilliantly. The trainer loved her, she got to see people and dogs. She learned her name and it turns out she was so eager to please that we were able to train her to do almost anything. Also, it was extremely cheap.

One good thing about Petsmart is f you are not happy, they offer 100% money back guarantee or another set of classes with no additional charge.

I don't know anything about the program but Continental Boarding in Steele Creek offers agility classes.
