In our case it's simple: We have that spiral tree that you see in on people's lawns. Goes right on the table with a cloth underneath. Put up a few other things around that spiral-y tree and we're golden.

If we had a tree I'd be biting my fingernails each time I'd walk through the door, praying that the thing is still standing.

Maybe you could get a REALLY big tree, so the cats could use it like one of those big multi-level condo climber things made out of wood and carpet.

Sunny, lil Gitmo raced up our tree 3 times this weekend . . . climbed up to the very top. Thank goodness no ornaments were on. We simply can't allow him in near the tree from here out. Don't know how we will manage that. It will be . . . challenging.

I would say get an upside down tree but it looks like it would make it easier for the cat to climb
