LOL, well Mom liked Dr. Luigi best of all the extraneous doctors, & he would come over every so often. I hope that your mom likes the Italian doctor as well as my mom liked hers.

Ani, I think it's the accent - any French, Italian or English accent just seems to send us American women swooning!!!

YW Ani.

Good.

My feeling on medical treatment coming from Europe breaks down this way. If it's coming from a country in the EU, I would be pretty confident. They do have some very different treatments, but they have studies & documentation for that treatment. The doctors are also well trained. If the country is not in the EU, I'd have a lot more concerns.

There are lots of laws & various documents readily available on EU governing websites & English is one of the official languages for the EU. It's pretty easy to look up a lot of European stuff, although I tend to use Lycos & a couple of other European-based search engines as my primary search engines for European information.

No, she just liked him. He would take notes & 2 or 3 years later when he would show up, he would study his notes before examining her. She was impressed that he did that, because other doctors didn't. They would come back again & would come in cold & ask her about the last time that they had been there, like she was supposed to remember that.

The English doctor did it, to a degree, but Dr. Luigi was the most thorough.

The extent of my french is just to add the "wah" sound to the end of whatever you can.

Oui, Oui Brian! My dad always said - just talk like you have a mouthful of mush.

I wish I were more proficient in French . . . I took Spanish in HS and college. So what I have learned . . . I have had to teach myself. I do the online stuff everyone so often. When in France, I get laughed at a lot, but it seems the French appreciate my feeble attempts to at least try to communicate. They are an arrogant bunch, but even they seem to have a sense of humor . . . or maybe they just feel so sorry for me . . . or find me so ridiculous . . . anyway, they are nice to me, wh/ is not what Americans usually get from the French!!!

Oh yeah. It's easy to fake, too. Just add a "wah" or "ay-voo" at the appropriate moments.

"Pass-wah the kethup-wah for my fries-ay-voo".

Most likely close to every other word will be "wah" except the last word, which will almost always end in "voo".
