Those lolcats will never get old.

I have a few of those sites bookmarked, right down to what seems to be a mostly complete interpretation of the bible done in lolcat-speak, both old and new testaments (which can be a bit of a chore to read at times but hilarious nonetheless).

There's even a lolbot website...

It never ends, but it never gets old, either.

so, I had my annual review today. it is before the end of the year because circumstances are dictating that everything be completed by 12/31.

I received it via the computer a couple of days ago and was quite angry to see that a viewpoint that I had expressed concerning a situation (all factual, nothing exaggerated or blown out of proportion) showed up on my review in a rather unfavourable way. This had the potential to adversely affect me in the future.

so, today was the day that we went over the review. I expressed my displeasure. I even cleared the air about another situation earlier in the year where she was overheard telling a potential leader that I would not be a good fit for a promotion and new job (when I was the leading candidate) Thus, she prevented me from getting that job. Yes, I cried (too much emotion bottled up) and we talked & talked. In the end, she changed the review. Don't think that we are bestest friends, but, now she knows that she can't railroad me anymore.

Whew. that was some way to start the day!

no, no bonus.

the company is scheduled to close on 12/31. The new owners want everything completed before then.

I am glad you stood your ground and didn't let yourself get railroaded, but that is just not right when people are unfair about circumstances. Another of my friends went thru/ a very unfair review this week . . . and she got her documentation together and proved that the main statement about her performance being subpar (in one area) was a total misrepresentation by a coworker. I was so proud of her, too. It seems you have to CYA all the times these days. As w/ your case, it appears a coworker was trying to malign my friend b/c of a job that was opening . . . and she wanted to get my friend out of the way so she could get the promotion. Ain't life grand.

Did you ever "get" my kitty picture? It is a whole genre of animal pix w/ "kitteh" talk/words, LOL. My son got me hooked on it and then Brian's cute pix inspired me to play around w/ it a bit myself. I couldn't get it posted right at first, so that is why you saw only html language at first - had to edit it to get things to work correctly.

Yes, Ani, I did get the pic. I was really confused at first!

I guess that the situation that I am in (and possibly the same one that your friend is in) leads to jealousy and people vying to be "on top". It's sad because that is not the way that this company used to be. sigh.
