Son is happy cause prior to that the only celebrity he's seen was Richard Simmons!! DH was happy cause he didn't have to hang around for the ceremony. They figured it wasn't going to get any better than that and got the heck out! Cool Beans!!!
VERY COOL BEANS INDEED!!!

I love Will Smith....very talented actor & family man, not too shabby looking either. He has the best laugh!

The kids must have been soooo excited!

Yeah, they have stuff on the website for the younger grads, but for old alumni like me . . . nada. The majority of people I graduated with are still w/in a few miles of where they grew up . . . and they all know how to reach each other. If I really wanted to "find" a particular person, I could get on the phone and start calling people's parents, but that's the thing . . . I don't wanna have to go thru/ all that. At our 25th year anniversary, they sent an invite to me in care of my parents , w/ a questionnaire that asked how many grandchildren do you have and that totally wigged me out. I mean . . . GRANDCHILDREN??? My kid was still in elementary school. And I was in Kansas at that time . . . so I didn't respond, so I think they have kind of marked me off the list, if you know what I mean.

Sometimes, it is hard when you are in the middle of a situation b/c you don't want to over-react or get suspicious or attribute nefarious motives to your co-workers - so it was easier for me to see it as an outsider. Unfortunately, this kind of crap goes on way too frequently and usually, the person who ends up getting screwed had no clue what was coming. Some people play hardball and are very slick at backstabbing, twisting things around, blame shifting, etc. And so many managers are fooled by this kind of manipulation.

I was given the book "Swimming with sharks" back in the 70s, I believe . . . and so much of that still holds true today. Some people are just calculating JERKS.
Ani, you are exactly right. Unfortunately, the "shark" in this case is actually my manager who I really thought was my friend. She blindsided me earlier in the year and since then I have really been on my guard, but, trying to think positively, trying not to think that she would stoop that low again...unfortunately, not true. But, when I called her on it, there were excuses made, but, no apology. The end result was that she did what I wanted/needed and that was all I needed.

I checked out some of the websites where you supposedly post your name and others can contact you, but they all charge a fee and I am not interested in doing that at all.

Anyone know of a way to find out who else is out there who may be looking for classmates? My class has had some reunions along the way (I was told by a former classmate that I ran into in an airport years ago) but they didn't have my address so I didn't get an invite. (Or maybe they just didn't want me there????? HEE HEE)

Any suggestions?
Did you try Classmates.com? I found my best friend there....after loosing her for a few years...

Yes, I signed up on classmates and 3 people have signed my "guestbook" but they won't let me see who until I sign up to pay a monthly fee. ????? Is that what you did?

Facebook is a good place and I was amazed about how many people are on that site that I knew. You can also get a preview of people you know and add them if you want. One of my best neighborhood friends as a kid message me last week that I lost touch with. I didnt care for classmates.com due to I dont want to pay to what they look like now.

Early in my career, a person stepped forward (from another department) who essentially made herself available as a mentor. Long story made short - she knew a job was opening (I didn't) that I should have been promoted to and she wanted it. It turned into a nasty situation and that is when I learned - sometimes, the people you think are on your team, AREN'T. Pretty sad.

yeah, I think I signed up for the minimum amount; but, during that time, I was voracious in using the site contacting as many people as possible and using my regular e-mail in my profile. Once I found who I wanted, then, I canceled.

However, another person then found me and e-mailed me later. because I had my regular e-mail in the profile.
