Good morning... we are from Pennsylvania & possibly relocating in the Charlotte area... and would love to know from you folks who live in the area which towns you might suggest as best to start looking... I saw in real estate listings some nice homes in "Shelby" but then went to a site where local folks and ex-residents claimed that property values since closing of factories has made property values go down as well as a real increase in crime.... which just scared me!!! We have a teen and a preschooler, so a SAFE area, with nice schools is an absolute must. If you live near Charlotte, any suggestions of where we might START to look...

Hi, Wassuppa! There are sooo many threads on this forum about areas to settle in. It is really hard to know what to say without knowing your situation, i.e. - renting or buying? Price range? Job situation (for commute) . . . rural vs. city vs. suburban . . .

Start a thread. I'm in Kings Mountain (in Cleveland County) & there are some others in the western counties.

Shelby is the county seat for Cleveland County

I just got back from mass having received my ashes. I stopped at Harris Teeter on the way home to pick up some milk and when I got home realised what people were looking at. The big dirty thumb print on my forehead. One tends to forget that not everyone is an Irish Catholic LOL
