Well, we currently live in a not so sunny parcel of california with little to no economy, and houses beyond a reasonable price range, we have a baby on the way and are looking to move by the end of this year to Charlotte. We plan on initially renting a place for (hopefully) $400-600, a 1-2 bedroom mobile home is fine, but rather it not be an appartment. In the mean time we will be scouting to buy, although we don't want to land in a bad neighborhood and get shot in the process. What are the best neighborhoods for our price range within a 30-45 min commute to uptown. Also, which neighborhoods should we most deffinitly avoid? Rural is fine as long as we're within a fiew minutes of some sort of civalization, we're not looking for anything fancy, just a safe home base to find our future home. Thank you for the help, we're having a hard time gathering information,

Hi Sasha In your price range don't plan to live in the Charlotte city limits okay? You would have a difficult time finding a 2 bedroom apt in that price range in a safe area. And Charlotte doesn't have but maybe a handful of mobile homes - none of them would be very safe places either. So here's my suggestion...look for places in the surrounding metro area like Monroe, which is the next county over from Charlotte (Union) or Gastonia (west of Charlotte in Gaston county), Mt. Holly (also in Gaston County). Do you have any idea the kinds of places you will be looking for a job for you husband?
