OK all Cabarrus County residents. How do you feel about the STUPID new name for Speedway Blvd and the fact that it cost you guys $15,000 for the new signs on I-85 and Highway 29. And of course they have to put his name above Concord Mills Blvd for the I-85 exit signs.

He has so much money...why didn't he pay the $15,000 to swell his head!

What a baby he was & is!

Never said he was a dumb guy...everyone knows he is just a cry baby. If I don't get my way...I am gonna pull out of Concord. NO ONE wants a drag racing facility right by them. He lives no where near there and of course can't hear the noise.

And why pass the $15,000 along to the local tax payers. He should have at least paid for the new signage!

I am glad that 1 man doesn't dominate Charlotte!

Yep you hit it...I was reading this article of bsmith and concord...And some of the other negotiation plans were to enhance the roads and bring more attractions to that area. I read something about a major Hotel that will be built somewhere around there.

EXACTLY

All that urban sprawl in that area and Concord Mills are a result of the tourism dollars that Bruton Smith has brought to the area.
He a very smart buisnessman and knows what will help keep that area thriving.

First off, nobody forced those residents to move near a race track. It doesn't matter when the drag strip comes, if you move near a big racing facility you take that risk.

Second, Bruton Smith didn't negotiate to have the the street signs changed, that was the mayor's little goodwill idea to help keep the track here. Don't blame Bruton Smith for that one, blame the mayor.

Third, while he may be arrogant, he more than got his way. That's smart business sense if anything. If we had half that sense we wouldn't be posting about it on here.
