Elementary, middle, high school? Where exactly are you thinking of living?

Is there a good school (middle or high) in the entire 28269 area?

YES...brand new Mallard Creek High (just opened this year).

Alot of 28269 goes to Huntersville Schools (Bradley Middle & North Mecklenburg High).

28277 does not guarantee you a good school district. Especially with the rezoning that Char-Meck does quite often.

some of 28277 goes to South Meck (talk about a BAD school)!

To each is own.

I don't live in either district. I live in Myers Park district.

Lots of gangs and drugs at South Meck (alot of other schools too but South Meck is known for it).

Mallard Creek High School is the newest high school in Char-Meck.

This is not a bad area, definitely worth a look see. The biggest problem with it is its high school assignment - West Mecklenburg, an abysmal school. The area is just beyond west Charlotte - which itself is not that great in most areas, but it is not considered part of west Charlotte and is really beginning to be developed rapidly as I485 gets closer to being built there.

There is nothing wrong with 28269. Try Radbourne, Davis Lake, Highland Creek, Amber Leigh, Mallard Trace(?)..... do I need to continue.

Check out: Hubbard Woods, Davis Lake, Cheshunt, Highand Creek, There are too many good ones to name. Brownes Ferry...

I would not listen to the people that are trying to "scare" you away from NE Charlotte. The area is great for me. Near the Y, Close to IBM and Wachovia, Northlake Mall
