Are you saying not much because at the moment electrician jobs are hard to find or their salary isn't much in general. If so, what is the average salary?
Thanks.

Charlotte is pretty much a white-collar town. Electricians are usually self employed and work on their own. Right now, nobody has any money to spend, so, the job market for blue collar jobs is pretty much nil.
It sounds as if you are looking to see if you want to move here. To research the property taxes, look at the charlotte-mecklenburg website polaris dept. You can see the actual property taxes for an address. They go according to the value of the home. For example, my house is valued at $113k and my taxes are $1500.00.
Right now property value are tanking due to the many foreclosures. This is NOT a good time to relocate without a job...and, unless you can get a job with Duke Energy or one of the other utility companies, those chances are going to be really slim.
I know a good electrician (25 yrs experience, licensed in NC/SC) who I hire occasionally for work at my business, when I don't have the time to do the work myself (I am a EE/ECE). We spoke today at length about the job market. On good years he makes $60K+ but currently his business is down 50% and he is supplementing his income with odd jobs.
There's tons of work for electricians in this area (ie installing ceiling fans/floor boxes, upgraded lighting, etc)
You just need to network really well and get your name out there....if you can do that, you can make some real good money under the table.
