Can anyone tell me what the community is like? Do you live or work in the area and are there a lot of foreclosures?

Which Quail Ridge are you inquiring about? There are a few: Charlotte, Statesville, and Fort Mill.

Yes, it's the area of Charlotte, not to far from the mall-someone sent a PM to let me know there was more than one. You see, I'm an out-of-towner from Colorado!

I would like to bump this as I am curious myself. I've heard some telling me to avoid the north west side. While I am not ready to purchase a home ye, I've noticed some good size homes at a decent price there. Obviously I will check the area out when I am ready to buy but opinions are greatly appreciated

Hi,I'm new here ..this is my first post.
I am interested in this community also if anyone has any info on it.
We are in Huntersville now in an apt. and are looking at homes.
We would prefer to stay in this general area(Huntersville,Denver,Davidson,Cornelius) for the small town feel and lower crime rate but our price limit is around 120,000.-130,000 and it looks like Charlotte has some homes in this price range.
Our realtor suggests we look at Quail Ridge.
I have looked online for the stats but nothing compares to hearing form people who actually know the area first hand.
I expect to have to lock my doors but I would like to feel safe as in not worrying about walking from car to door at night.I want to play outside with my 3 yr old w/out any worries.

Basically I want the safety of Huntersville at a cheaper price. Is that possible?

Not sure why your realtor told you to check out Quail Ridge as I believe it's out of your price range? Most homes in there are well over $150,000. In any case, it pretty close to the Huntersville limits - you wouldn't be far. The whole general area is pretty nice and safe.

They start at 138,000 but I am guessing our realtor thinks we can get a deal of some sort. She mentioned spec homes too.
Thank you for the info.
