check out a few developments in union county like somerset and hunter oaks in your price range and on the border literally of blakeney so the commute uptown is 40-50 min depending on what time u leave the schools are Rea View Marvin Ridge middle and Marvin Ridge HS...u can go to carolinahome.com and check them out as well as the blakeney area and then go to ncreportcard.org and check out the schools also check out greatschools.net as well....and do a comparision...good luck we live in Hunter Oaks dh commutes 1x a week uptown and honestly says the commute isnt bad he too was commuting 2 hours each way to work when we lived in NJ and he worked in Ny and NJ......we love living so close to shopping and blakeney and stonecrest and ballantyne

That's right, I forgot that Hunter Oaks is Union County. Definitely worth looking into. Very nice neighborhood and Marvin Schools are also great.
