For us it was a combination of things - the affordablility of housing (we can't afford to buy where we live now), being closer to our family (a days drive vs a 6 hour flight right now), and the warm weather (we don't want to deal with a LOT of snow each winter).
Having grown up in Western North Carolina and moving around several times I can't tell you how happy I am to be back in NC. "Nothing could be finer..."
for us also there are quiet a few reasons: Job opportunities for dh, slower paced life, better quality, affordable taxes and housing.....and well overall my son as well as I need a change and NC has so much to offer us...
We moved from the Triad, mainly since there's more to do in Charlotte, we were already constantly coming here anyway. Also wanted to be closer to Lake Norman in case we ever get the opportunity to own a boat.
We moved here solely to be nearer to our family in SC. We were very happy in Colorado & would have stayed, but felt our child should be near relatives. We miss Colorado quite a bit---
