Oh, dern. We have gone up to Fox & Hound at that location - alumni get togethers to watch sports. This is just disgusting. How totally insane. I want to know more about the groups of people who were there and who the shooter was.
That is a very nice area and it is sickening that thugs are already infiltrating.

Here's the details from CMPD.
"A B/M suspect entered the restaurant and shot a male victim at this location. The circumstances surrounding this shooting are currently under investigation by the ADW Unit. The preliminary investigation appears to show that the victim was not the intended target of the gun assault. The victim is currently in critical stable condition."

One would assume the type of patrons that F & H draws would not be thugs. I have heard people complain that a lot of unsavory characters have been hanging around areas of the mall. Surely law enforcement are not gonna let Northlake Mall turn into the same kind of situation that we have had over at Eastland Mall. But now I am wondering.
Since I don't live there, I have only heard comments and concerns voiced by others. Any of you spend time at Northlakes at nite? Have you seen gangs or groups that look thuggish hanging around?

Personally I think the Northlake Mall is nice (good selection of stores) and the area with the new Best Buy and Super Target are desirable, but the crime level is too high. Of course it seems like the entire Charlotte area is facing this problem...

I would expect more thugs will actually be moving into the area when that large apartment complex behind the Lowes is completed.
I rarely ever see cops patrolling that area .
A sign of the times

Well, something has to be done now, then. If this shopping area gets the rep of being a hangout for thugs . . . that would be horrific. It is a needed shopping district for the area and should be a safe place for families, as well as for young people out on dates. This is truly sickening. I hope residents will start raising hell and get police actively on site, patrolling and picking up miscreants - and breaking up groups that are hanging around parking lots.

We were there late in the day some weekends back. It didn't look like there were any more trouble making looking kids than you'd see anywhere else. It didn't seem bad at all. Early in the day or midday it's a nice enough place, certainly nice enough that I was a little surprised to hear there have been reports of break ins and unsavories hanging around.
