Mooresville has a ton of traffic, horrendous in town and commuting to charlotte, we moved here from Cleveland and you are going to miss the parks and festivals. Huntersville is probably better for commuting , nightlife , parks and stuff going on. We live in mooresville and am not thrilled with it.

Your husband won't have any traffic issues working in downtown Mooresville. Most of the congestion is along hwy.150 going towards Lake Norman area. Stay on the East side of town to live and you'll be fine. You'll find plenty of nightlife around the area as well as decent resturants and shopping. As far as football, we may have to convert you! Good luck to you! I really think you'll like it here.

Oh yeah, but you don't have the Lake on the east side!
What about town homes in Morrison planatation-walk to shops, bars restaurants?

We moved here five years ago and spent a few months in Mooresville. Originally, we had planned to buy a house there, but didn't.
Here's the link to the apartment complex we stayed at temporarily. They had short term leases and also month-to-month. It was clean and quiet, with laundry facilities and a pool. They allowed pets for a fee.
River Park Apartments Apartments Mooresville, NC - Apartments for Rent in Mooresville North Carolina
We ended up on the quieter side of Lake Norman in Lincoln County. I'm glad we didn't end up in Mooresville. Like one person mentioned, the traffic sucks. The roads are congested due to lack of planning to accomodate the growing population. Then, you have a mix of people who think they own the road and drive like maniacs, and then the people who can't move out of their own way to save their life, along in with those who are easily distracted by shiny objects. Since you're from the North, let me tell you, when it snows (not often) the natives DO NOT know how to drive in it. There are a lot of Northern transplants in Mooresville. Glean what you will from that last statement.
There's really no nightlife in Mooresville. There are good places to eat, good medical doctors and facilities, and plenty of shopping. I go into Mooresville to get stuff I cannot get in Lincoln County, or to get decent Italian food. Every time I go in I notice more and more new businesses and housing popping up, and there is more traffic and it's more crowded.
You will get more for your housing buck if you head out to Lincoln County, but it has its pros and cons too.
I hope this helps. You're making the right move to come down South. You will love the weather and you never have to shovel rain.

I live in S. CLT and if I were to move, it would be to Mooresville. Great area! My sister and parents live there and have very active social lives and are involved in the community . . . there is very little NOT to like about M'ville, IMO.

I agree Ani. M'ville has lots of business, housing, good schools, close enough to Charlotte / Hickory / Statesville / etc, and is right on the northern end of the lake.
The traffic can be tedious at times in a couple of hot spots in town, but you can easily learn how to deal with it (travel at the better times, use alternate routes, etc.). If you've had any experience living / commuting in areas like NJ, DC, etc, you'd laugh at what people consider to be "nightmare" traffic issues around here.

Yes. If you've driven in NJ/NYC, the traffic here will seem like a dream when you move down here. There are natives who have said to me things like "ohmigod you drive all the way to Charlotte? The traffic is a nightmare." They really don't know what a traffic nightmare truly is.
And wait until you get a load of the low property taxes, compared with up North.
The housing prices/lower taxes and relatively mild weather are reasons alone I'd never go back Up North.
Good luck with the move. BTW, I didn't mean to sound anti-Mooresville, I'm really not.
