Oh, I forgot to say that I want it mostly for the coupons but we do read it as well. It may not be a great paper but as it isn't our only source of info it doesn't have too much influence....LOL
greenville, I had previously called the offices and they wouldn't give me the lower rate. I could try again or just keep looking for vendors...maybe leave a note for the paper guy....????

I'm also one who buys it just on Sunday mornings...always curious to see what homes had sold for in my area...LOL. Plus I need to look at the up to date coupons...
They used to have just a section on Union County which I thought was pretty decent. Seems like they consolidated, and do a region now south of Charlotte (several counties)...mediocre paper at best IMO.

Yes, you can order a subscription from their website. Although if you call you can always ask if they have any specials running or discounts to first time subscribers.

If your just going for the coupon inserts and only want 1 coupon. I don't think you can print the coupon multiple times.

Anyone selling Observer subscriptions?
Has anyone seen one of these people selling subscriptions in the Denver/Huntersville/Mooresville area? If so let me know; I need to renew my subscription by months end. This year the renewal rates are reasonable, but a gift card would seal the deal! I've done this in the past but see fewer and fewer of these paper salespeople around.
In general the Observer is not what it used to be. The paper has really slimmed down over the last year, and there is not much in the weekday paper. I wouldn't even subscribe, but is probably more wasteful to run out every Sunday just for the ads and coupons.

That's not the same coupons that are in the circulars. You can only get most of those in the Sunday Paper.

The only acceptable use of the Observer is to train your puppy.

The Observer used to be a very good paper, but they have taken to value engineering it so that it is now mostly worthless. It's mostly reprints of AP articles, and stock writing of fluff articles that apply to any city. I've seen the same articles, with some facts changed, in the Raleigh N&O, Myrtle Beach Sun Times and The State all owned by McClatchy. If there is a local article, it's poorly researched, doesn't hit the issues it needs to hit, and is written at a juvenile level.
I subscribed to this paper for decades, but decided a couple of years ago it wasn't worth it and canceled my sub. The bad thing is, the paper has gotten worse since then.

Out of all the cities I have lived in Charlotte Observer is the ONLY paper that does not have a Sunday Only subscription option. Anyone else find that odd or is it just me?
We do get it, but I almost never read it. I usually just read the WSJ and use the CO for coupons. DH takes it to work to read during his down time, so I couldn't read it if I wanted to!
