Both of mine are rescues...they are mixed breeds, but, they are the best behaved dogs! I dogsat recently for two purebreds and was tearing my hair out for their stubborn-ness and unwillingness to do what they were supposed to...
Millions of animals are euthanized each year. For a small adoption fee you can get the most loving companion. I don't buy animals. I adopt them and hope you'd consider doing the same. The best part about a slightly older dog (say 1 year) is that you will already know their personalities as well....I would also never take advice from someone who rec'ds a puppy mill. Maybe that was a joke I didn't get though.
Please save a puppy's life and adopt one from an animal shelter! You know they kill dogs and puppies there and it is wrong! It is murder! Please don't spend lots of money on a puppy and go rescue one instead. They need a good home and don't deserve to die. It just makes me so sad.
+1 for animal shelter here as well. Millions need homes and are GREAT pets!!!! Please don't go to a pet store unless its Petsmart or Petco that offer adoptions on Saturdays. Check out their websites for all the details or go to Petfinder.com..
I adopted my cat from the Humane society and I fully support shelters but if you don't have any luck I purchased my dog from a breeder in Missouri on next day pets.com. It isn't really next day LOL but many breeders post dogs on there when very young and you can get them right at 7 or 8 weeks. I wanted a mini beagle and that is why I went on there and found a breeder that sells themGood Luck, But make sure you go to shelters first!
