The owner's of Sugar Plum in Blakeny have been having volunteers run their store for the past few months while they are at a hospital in Durham watching their eleven year old son fight cancer as well as multiple infections attacking his body.

The owners just marked everything 50% off. They are desperately trying not to lose their store.

Jewelry, accessories, purses, clothing, trinkets, etc.

They've got unique things that you don't find in chain stores. I love walking in there from time to time. I've sometimes find the most precious little items.

Default interesting

I went in there a few times but it seemed they only wanted to help people that were ready to trhow down a lot of cash.. Maybe now it wasn't the owners but the people they hired. This was back when they first opened up and then again last month.

I feel so bad for them. That is just horrible!

Yes, it is sad.

I go in there just to look sometimes because they have such an interesting assortment of stuff, but I never had a bad experience with the sales people though.... and I defintely don't look like I have loads of money.

[quote=MJPost32;6525142]I went in there a few times but it seemed they only wanted to help people that were ready to trhow down a lot of cash.. Maybe now it wasn't the owners but the people they hired. This was back when they first opened up and then again last month.

I was in there today and asked them if they hold, they said yes and told me my things would be on the rack behind the counter. I went back 3 hours later and my garments that were supposed to be on hold were back on the rack. Even worse, one if the items I had on hold, they had sold. What takes the cake is that I called them out on it and they told me that I was the one confused. I know for a fact, one of the blouses I put on hold was a size small and there were at least 3 of that color on the rack. When I returned the only size they had left was the medium and they told me that it was their store and they could do whatever they wanted. I called them liars when they denied selling the item I had on hold when I knew for a fact that they did. When I went to put the items back on the rack, the older gentleman yelled at me and said no and literally grabbed it from my hands. I think they were mad that they got caught in the lie but to physically grab something from my hands while I was trying to put it back on the rack was uncalled for.

I totally will NEVER shop there again. And if you ever want something on hold then beware, it may not be there when you return. They lie outright and all they care about is selling there clothing, definitely not into customer service the way we know it in the US. To get and retain new customers you have to give them a reason to come back and not lie to them or physically grab something from their hands. I do believe the owners are from a Latin American country as they spoke Spanish.

Why are all the harsh reviews of an establishment from people with only 1 post?
