One of our kids is interested in the early college program in UC. They would be taking classes at SPCC as well as high school classes and I'm wondering if anyone has any info or feedback on the classes at the college. All the credits would transfer to a 4 year school, we just want to make sure we know as much as we can to help guide the decision if needed.

I am not completely well versed in the early college program, but the one thing you may already be aware of is that they do not have sports programs. It is not a "traditional" high school with sporting teams, but if that isn't an issue for you, as it isn't for many, that is fine. It just something to be aware of.

It looks like a great program, would ease some of the college tuition costs from parents, and would focus the students toward a solid foundation for finishing college.

Thanks DawnW. Yes, we are aware that it isn't a traditional high school and that isn't going to be an issue. The concern lies more in that the high school and college are blended together but still somewhat separate. There is a liaison from the college who works with the EC program but the kids are still in real college classes with real college professors. I guess we want to make sure the college end of the program is up to par with what you would typically find in a community college. I probably should have posed the question more for feedback on SPCC than the program in general

However, I could just be overthinking the whole thing (DH says I have a tendancy to do that...LOL).
