Hello everyone,

I am a 27 year old with a 4 year old son. I'd like a fresh start after graduation and living in New York(which I do not like - too expensive)I am graduating in May with a BA in History and a minor in Political Science. I will be starting grad school in Fall 09 to earn a Masters in Education. I'd like to know if anyone has advice about lateral entry into teaching Social Studies in CMS? (What are my chances if any? - or should I just stick it out in New York until I earn my masters in education and then move?) If there is any advice about the best schools for my son since he will start kindergarden in Fall 09 as well. I'd also like to know about nice neighborhoods with parks or fun activities I can do with my son, but also affordable and with a Since I am a single female, I'd like to know about afterschool programs available as well.......One more thing, i need to find a good church. Pentecostal or COGIC or Non denominational with a singles ministry-with a diverse group of attendees.

Thanks in advance everyone....

Thank you NCgirl,

I read it before and I qualify, however I was just curious to find out if they actually hire social studies teachers with this type of license? (since it is not a high need area like math or science)

As far as a budget goes, I'd say about 700-800 for a 1 or 2 bedroom. (am i pushing it?)
