I tried to cancel to get a better deal. Worked with the retention dept. Even scheduled a day to pick up my box. Didn't work. I had to call and cancel the cancellation.

Can't wait to have other options...dish/direct tv not an option.

Would recommend switching to Road Runner Lite to carve $10 off your internet bill. You want notice any difference.

$150 a month for Extended Basic Digital Cable (No HBO, Showtime, Cinemax) & Turbo Road Runner & Wireless Internet. We both work from home and need Turbo Road Runner...we can really tell a difference in speed...just wish it were cheaper. NO way to satelite TV...plus our building does not allow it...Thank goodness...those satelite receivers are not attractive at all.

I gave them $149.50 for Digital, HBO, RR and DVR! I have Vonage instead of TW phone service - it's cheaper! How I wish Verizon Fios would show up in Monroe. Cablevision, Time Warner and Comcast are all offering their triple play packages for $19.95 a month for each, for a year, back in my old NJ neighborhood. When there's competition the price goes down! I hope AT&T's U-Verse is a big success in Charlotte! Verizon Fios where are you? I'll probably be dead by the time it gets here.

competition is definitely the key. 8 yrs ago, we signed up and added Road Runner when the phone company said DSL would reach us, so we felt like RR was our only choice. The first Satellite company that can offer internet service AND Sat TV at a lower price will get my biz in a heartbeat.
There has got to be a cheaper alternative. $45 for internet service is a tough pill to swallow. Another $120 to get HD DVR and HBO and HD channels, but no NFL Network! Ugh.

I will tell you something a woman told me at TWC.

If you are on a promotional deal and it runs out, according to TWC, you must wait 30 days to be eligible for another "promotion."

So....it will have you paying full price for one month, but you are then able to call and get the latest promotional deal.

I am trying to decide what to do right now. We currently are on a promotional deal for:

Internet
Digipac 2000 (HBO/Cinemax)
4 DVRs

All for $140/month including tax.

Our promotion ends in Jan.

They have offered me:

Internet
Cable with 2 DVRs, no premium channels

For the same price I am paying right now. They wont' give me the same deal I have.

Trying to decide if I should let it lapse for 30 days and see what is available then, or if I should take their 2 year deal and be done with it.

Dawn

For those of you with 1.5mgb RR Lite:

Do you have an internet phone service? How does it work with the RR Lite?

RR says their phone service doesn't work with the Lite version, but we have Vonage, would that work?

$110/mo for Standard cable, Digital phone with International package and RR. Let me know how to cut down the cost... Will the digital phone work for lower speed RR?

Dawn, I have the "regular" Roadrunner and my Vonage works fine. I just wonder if TWC is giving you "a line" so you won't get the "lite" version. I know Vonage has some adjustment you can make to prioritize your "phone service" in the event you have slow cable or DSL service!
