My brother and I will be in Charlotte for six hour layover between Amtrak trains. Are there any movie theaters off of or within a reasonable taxi ride of the light rail? Thanks!
The light rail does not go out to the Amtrak station you will not need to ride it at all .
Call a cab and tell them to take you to the Epicentre in uptown.
It too far to walk but walking would kill some of that time however
but not to far in a cab and probably just around 10 bucks I would assume
Often cabs are sitting out in the parking lot so you may luck out that way too.

Actually, it's a little less than 2 miles from the AMtrak station to Epicenter. Just walk south on Tryon, to Trade St, Hang a left, go 1 block and there you are. I'd almost be afraid of what route a cab would take someone on, for such a short trip.
If you leave the station, give yourself PLENTY of time to get back, because time and AMTRAK wait for no man!

I agree this is your best bet. I too would just walk to it, forget the cab. Here's a link to their site so you can see if the times will work for you: EpiCentre Theaters
Spend the rest of the time exploring this great developing city! Good luck and have fun!
I would go to the Epicentre but my brother is 18 and I heard they have an after 7 pm nazi youth policy. Any more that we could find?
Walk across the street (North Tryon Street) to the CATS #11 bus stop. This bus usually runs every 10 to 20 minutes on the weekdays. It will take you to the Transit Center Uptown. The transit center is 200 feet east of Epicentre and directly across Trade Street from the Arena. This is what you will see when you get off of the #11 bus.
I would go to the Epicentre...but would NOT walk down N. Tryon St. Take a cab. It is probably less than 2 miles and would be a cheap cab ride and safe.
I don't know about that? I see "ladies" and "Pharmacists" walking that stretch of North Tryon 24/7!!!
From the Amtrak Station?...under that bridge...I am an Uptown resident and personally would never walk from the Amtrak Station to Uptown. A cheap cab ride would be the best bet. I see professional people walking down N. Tryon St. too..but only from about 10th. St and South...just my opinion though.
