Default Are there any food co-ops in the Charlotte area? (health foods)

I am looking for a local food co-op that sells things like seeds, nuts, local honey, coconut oil....

Health food stuff.

I know there are some co-ops for meat, eggs, and milk on some of the local farms, but I am looking for non animal products.

Thanks,

Dawn

Thanks but that only lists Earth Fare in Charlotte. I am looking to get in large bulk far less than Earth Fare.

I was talking to a woman in Ingles today who told me that there's some sort of co-op thing in Gastonia, off exit 14, for health food. I think it's in a Methodist church. Maybe someone else knows about this.

Thanks. I have found a couple names locally and am looking into some options. Apparently most of this is word of mouth, so I am learning as I look.

One person told me that where she came from several families had found their health foods to be cheaper on Amazon.com shipped than through their co-op!

Who would have guessed?

I'm from Greensboro, and I was just curious about that question also. While Greensboro, Durham, Asheville, Carrboro/Chapel Hill and Pittsboro have decent co-ops(there may be others) Charlotte does not have any kind of co-op to be seen.

It was kind of shocking and disappointing for a city of that size.

If you are ever in Greensboro, look into Deep Roots Market. They might even do online orders, I'm not sure.

Also, the co-op in Carrboro/Chapel Hill is fantastic. It's the size of a HT, maybe even larger.

Hi Dawn,

I know the Know Your Farms food club also sells things like local honey, nuts, ostrich oil, soaps, etc. They are kind of like a co-op except mobile.
