Hey Guys,
Since I know some of you follow some of my posts on what is going on, here is the latest on the Family Front...My sister well we still barely speak and guess what How nice that I JUST found out 10 weeks later she is pregnant and having her second child. apparently she didnt think I cared enough to tell me whatever, .she is due Sept 25th as well I guess that means we will be making a trip in if we are living there by then...My Mom well what can I say other than My dad and my Uncle who is only 10 yrs older than me, had a nice talk with her...Yesterday she actually asked me what kind of house we will be buying, about the area and etc...Today we had a nice conversation as well and I also spoke to my dad about it who has been supportive which I was surprised about as well....Well, she was talking to a few people down in florida which is where she is until end of march then goes back to NJ anyway, these people have freinds and family in Union County Marvin/Waxhaw area and they said we couldnt have picked a better area for schools and people and other things...so I just wanted to let all of you know that She isnt Happy About it because of the grandchildren but she finally GETS IT, and wishes us well and is planning on making a visit when we get there..so that is it folks in a nutshell, I must say im happy that I can now discuss it with her and not walk on egg shells and still respect how she feels...

Thanks for Listening
Staci

Glad you finally have some family support. Moving is hard enough when you have to leave family behind. We will be down there as well, but for personal reasons have to stay here for now. Thanks for keeping us posted..and good luck with your open house.

I didn't know what was gogin on with you Staci, I am about a month or so new to the board, but I am glad things are turning around for you. I have friends who don't want me to leave, but I only see my brothers and sisters once a year and both of my parents have passed. They are buried here, but I know they aren't really here, only the bodies that God chose them to live their lives in, they are in their heavenly bodies now. It took ME several years to even think about leaving the area, but I have come around. Good luck with everything to you. )

We got major grief when we moved here. Family and friends made all kind of inane suggestions as an alternative to our move here. Unfortunately, all of the discord had more of an impact on DH than me. I have no problem telling people to get over themselves. It's incredibly selfish of people to imply that your decision has more of an impact on them than it does on your immediate family.

I know this is a hardlined attitude but I put everyone on notice that I would entertain negative comments when they volunteered to financially support my household. I just have little patience for this type of behaviour. Sure, grandparents will miss grandchildren but you know what? There are planes, trains, automobiles, E-mail, unlimited long distance phone call plans, Internet phone service (which is very affordable!), etc. and a multitude of other ways to keep the lines of communication open.

People said, "Well it's only because we care" as an excuse for their immature responses and attitudes to our decision to move but I felt it was a poor way of showing concern. Why not ask how they can make the transition easier on our family?

Sara that is exactly my family's attitude, and well I guess they took me just saying to heck with everyone and I just dont care anymore for that I really didnt care...so I hear ya, but since I made it very clear that we are doing this and they will have to get over themselves....lol..and yes it soudned really bad and I think that is why my sister took it that way but also understand that she always had something to say regardless and apparently she knows everything...and honestly I really thought it would bother me not to have that relationship we had but in actuallity there was no relationship

It was more a Battle so to speak
