Black Friday II
The news is reporting drastic sales today as the Christmas shopping season was the worst in modern history. Many malls are open really early (like now) and prices are supposed to be slashed by as much as 90%!!
So, those that have money...great deals could be found!!! Have fun!!

I just can't bear thinking about the crowds and I suspect there are a lot of other people who feel the same way. Plus, everyone I have talked to has said they simply are not spending the money - even on drastically reduced items - unless it is something they need.
So I don't know . . . my DS needs some clothing so that would be what I would buy - but I am just not inclined to get out in the crowds today . . .

I'm not really seeing many deals advertised? I thought I would see more. Or possibly I'm looking for really really REALLY deep discounts. I've checked all the usual deal sites and nothing real jumps out.
Sometimes there's a fire sale on 12/30 and 12/31 at most places to get revenue booked for the year. I'm holding out until then.

I was out there and looking at clothing, for the most part. Really not too different from prices a week ago and prives a month ago.
I got better deals on clothes and shoes back in the spring. I didn't buy anything this season for me. Deals just weren't there.

Let's see....
I got 7 pairs of jeans for my husband in Sears, and I got 8 sweaters in Macy's for myself. Macy's was having an awesome sale on their clothes. If my husband wasn't with me, I would have shopped longer. They had lots of racks marked morning specials, & then they had racks marked 75% off. I just looked at my receipts, and the original prices for everything I bought would have totaled $649.86. I spent $160.94, turned my credit card receipts into customer service with the promotion they have going on, and got a $20 gift credit card. Maybe I'll repeat this tomorrow since I now have another $20 to spend...

Interestingly enough my wife went to Macys today with a coupon in hand from the local paper and a gift card. So hopefully she'll come back with some good deals too!

they were talking on the news that there are going to be even more deals in the days ahead as merchants try to get rid of their stock before the end of the year.
it is quite probable that they are not advertising them.
Also: BOO on Macy's. I am a Chicagoan. We are having a boycott on Macy's you know....
