I am new to the area and was wondering if there is anywhere in South Charlotte to go and meet new people? I am in my 20's but don't like bars and clubs.

I'd check out Forest Hills Church on Park Rd or Elevation Church which meets at Providence High School on hwy 51 near the Arboretum. These churches cater to young people and have a lot going on. I'd also suggest you check out the CHOA group - Charlotte Outdoor Adventures - LOTS going on there with many new people for you to meet. Welcome to Charlotte!

Also check out www.meetup.com for activities in the Charlotte area. Not sure how many are geared to your age group, but most are organized around a hobby/activity. You might find one you like. Can't hurt to try!

If you are truly a "Carolina Stud" then it shouldn't be a problem?

Seriously though, besides the obvious churches, how about the YMCA. I have found that I have developed many nice relationships with people I have met there, especially the Sisky in Weddington.

+1 LOL.

Seriously though, the obvious choice is continue to engage in activities you do enjoy then look around and see who is about. Church, gym, whitewater center, local mt bike trails/hiking trails, etc. I have a friend who actually married a girl he started a conversation with at the Morrocroft Harris Teeter - it has been a huge joke with all of us for the last 20 years or so.

LOL im not really a stud im just your average 6'1 150 pound(trying soo hard to gain weight) white boy LOL. I do kind of like lifting weights, so joining the YMCA may be a start. I was also thinking of just going into a church and just hopefully maybe I would meet someone there, although I would probably sit all the way in the back cause im shy HAHA. It seems like I get along better with people who are alot older than me, just cause we can talk about real world stuff and not about stuff like video games or sports cause I was never much into those.

If you go with a meetup group you should join Usual Suspects. They tend to do a lot more activites other than drinking/bar hopping. There is a hocky game coming up that a bunch of us are going to.

Check out CharlotteOne CharlotteONE: Worship / Teaching Gathering for Young Adults in Charlotte, NC

They meet at First United Methodist on the corner of 8th and Tryon. The idea is to provide a home for young singles and Christians to gather. Many churches don't have a large contingent of singles. Here there are younger Christians from over 20 churches under one roof on Tuesday nights.
