I would look into Providence Downs South, which will be gated, instead of Providence Downs, which is not gated. The gated version is much nicer and the style of homes are more consistent. Also, there are a couple of basketball and football players in that neighborhood. You can use Rea Road or Johnston Road to access this community, plus New Town Rd. and Waxhaw-Marvin Rd/Bonds Church Rd. will both bring you to Providence Road. Plus, you are zoned for the new Marvin Ridge Middle and High School (only 5 mins away).

Skyecroft is also very nice - the only issue is dealing with Providence Road which can become very congested. If you like Skyecroft, you should also look at The Club at Longview off Tom Short Road in Weddington. It is a gated country club with European style homes.
