It seems the Big master plan subs would be ideal, but reading on here they all seem to be to big for the economy. with very slow development

slow is Ok if it was steady and you knew it was going to grow

There are really too many to list - what is your price range? THAT would help us to narrow things down a bit. Also, do you have a job yet? If so, in what area of town?

To the OP: you have been asking similar questions on the York Co., SC board. People need what Loves Mountains said, a price range and where you would work or if retired. This is just too broad a question for a place as large as the Chralotte region (which includes Ft. Mill and Tega Cay).

I really thought I could afford more, Until I visited a couple " what can i afford for a House websites". the house really go's up every 20K a year after about 60K . Hard to believe People can afford $500 K homes based on the formulas.

It says i can afford a house or town house around $230 K
Pretty depressing when you make $65 K which i thought would do better

Don't feel discouraged. You can find a very nice home for that price.

Actually I'd say you would be better off staying closer to $200,000 in that salary range. A good rough rule of thumb is take your income and multiply times 3, that's how much house you'd really be able to afford. In your case that would be $195,000. Don't be too discouraged, you can still find a nice place in that range in many parts of Charlotte, especially if schools aren't important to you.
