Default ignorant about homes

I'm yet another floridian thinking of making the move to Charlotte. I've got an interview tomorrow with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system. I've been reading the posts and it seems like, for a newcomer like me, I'd be smart to get a realtor when it comes to buying a house. That way I can get steered toward the better schools and better areas. I've only owned one home in my life, and I didn't use a realtor to buy it. My question is....how are buyer's agents paid? Are they paid completely by the seller, or would I have to pay some money too? Anybody you recommend? I have no clue yet what area of Charlotte-Mecklenburg I'll be living yet, if I get the job, but when/if I get an offer, I'll need to move quick!

Unless stated otherwise you do not pay your buyers adent (realator), for the purchase off the house.

Good luck for tomorrow...

Definitely call a realtor, that can save you so much time in finding places to look! After you know what part of town you will be working in, then your realtor can pull up homes in your price range in that area, or as close as you can get to it. If you go north of Charlotte message CharlotteAgent for help, he knows that area well and lives there too. If you go south of Charlotte message SouthCharlotte&Union - she gets rave reviews here Good luck tomorrow!!!

The Buyer's Agent fee is paid by the seller in the form of a commission split that is negotiated between the agents. It's at no cost to you in most situations. The only time you'd be required to pay would be if you waited too long to get an agent, decided you needed one and brought him/her in after the fact. Some sellers, especially new home builders, do that.

If you need help, I'd be more than happy. If you'd like to get an idea of what homes are going for, feel free to access my website (found under my profile) and do a Property Search. I can send you information websites on schools and communities, and can mail you a relocation packet if you'd like.

Good luck with the interview.

We are here three weeks from Florida and glad to have made the move!!! I cannot stress the importance of finding a realtor who you click with. We would have been clueless without ours. Our realtor made our move really smooth and spent countless hours answering all of my silly neighborhood/school questions. All of the realtors who linger in this forum seem to really know their stuff and have provided so much good information! Good luck with your job interview. You'll be pleasantly surprised how lovely Charlotte and the Charlotteans are!!!

Well, first get hired! Of course, you could try Iredell-Statesville Schools and find you like us better than CMS! Sorry, not on topic.... , but then you could find a realtor in Statesville.....

You will love Charlotte. Are you from Florida originally or how long have you lived there? Good luck with the job interview. I sent you a PM.
