OK...but I'll charge you a fee to come over and watch your MTV Cribs from now on!!!

Seriosuly though, there's a thread about this int eh Orlando forum...they have Brighthouse (formerly TWC). Looks like the slice and dicing that TWC did to itself isn't going to protect everyone from this issue!

I can only bet Dish and DirecTV's phones are busy right now! I know too many people that are always on the fence with TWC (or any derivative thereof)...and are always saying "one more thing and I'll leave." I was one of them...

I'm sure TWC will lower our bills to compensate us for the loss of the stations.

But seriously, these things usually get resolved quickly. If TWC doesn't carry the Viacom channels, then Viacom's audience is a lot less and they can't charge advertisers the same rates. TWC and Viacom are just playing chicken with each other as a negotiating tactic.

I've been renting a room at two different houses since I've been in Charlotte. The first house had TWC and I really didn't like it. I didn't like anything about it really. The new house I'm renting from has Dish Network and it rocks. I've always had cable and always toyed with the idea of getting a dish, but never pulled the trigger. Now that I've been using it, I love it. With the bad experience with TWC at the first house, and all of the complaints about TWC that I hear from everyone. I'm definitely going with Dish once I get my new house here.

ILMomof4 is on a distinguished road
For those of you who have satellite where do you get your internet from? We have TW and really don't like it. In IL we had satellite but when the weather was bad, which was often we lost signal. So when we moved here we went with cable but after this I am thinking it might be back to direct tv (we really hated dish).

Yep it's all over the place. It's currently the first subject under Google News' entertainment section, that's 818 news articles. Vh1 is running a scroll at the bottom of the screen urging customers to call and "DEMAND THEY KEEP YOUR CHANNEL!".

I'd miss watching Daily Show and Colbert. Viacom is suffering it seems.

My parents just switched to Direct. There running a special that ends today. I know they've been busy b/c of people ordering in advance of the DTV switch.

I predict they'll offer another promotional deal as the DTV switch gets closer.

Will channels 1-100 on TW be a better picture since they won't be analog anymore after the switch happens? Will it still be 480i or will it be 720? I can't stand watching Ch. 24 (TBS) b/c the picture is so grainy.

I'm interested in the possibility of switching to satellite service. Comments anyone for Dish or Direct? Positive/Negative?
