Default Wedding venues-outside catering and alchohol

Happy New Year everyone! I got engaged over the holidays and have been out of town. We're starting to look for receptions sites in Charlotte or Lake Norman, and would love to find a place that allows outside caterers and alchohol. We can get the booze for free, but need someone to allow us to bring it in. Our caterer is licensed. We're thinking of having the ceremony at St. Mary's on 3rd street. Thanks in advance!

Yes, Congrats

There is a historic home in Plaza-Midwood, on Plaza Rd near to Central. I don't know the name of it, but, it looks pretty from the road and they appear to host weddings. Now, I am not sure if they will let you bring in your own alcohol & food.....does anyone know the name of that place?

Congratulations. Have a look at Freedom Park's Mahlon Adams Facility. It's beautiful for weddings and yes you can bring alcohol - just need to get an alcohol licence.

Thanks! That's a great idea, but a little small for our group. We've found a place that will let us bring in our own caterer, but not alchohol....I think we're going to have to go with that one. We'll have between 125-150 at the reception with a 10 member band.

The Palmer Building on 7th Street. We have to pay an additional fee to use our own caterer, but it's worth it. Luckily we have family ties to the food business, so we're getting a great deal. If we were having a smaller wedding, I would have booked one of the park and rec facilites.....hands down. Went to a wedding at Reedy Park and it was gorgeous. Where are you looking at?

Not nice for wedding but Idlewild Arena allows you to bring food and liquor. They tell you, you have to buy alcohol through the site, but you can negotiate the rental price if you want to bring in your own. Decent price for the place...
