The cardinals have been in the NFL since it started in the 1920s. Ironically the team began in Chicago then moved to St. Louis before moving to AZ.

Go Panthers!
No, baseball is my only sport. Growing up in Chicago (a major baseball town) never paid any attention to any other sport.

Same here. St. Louis is a baseball town. We hardly pay attention to any other sport, unless they're about to take the championship, then we pay attention. Baseball though, it could be the worst season in history and the town still cheers for them.

Ironically, Chicago has as much history in Football as Baseball. George Halas and the Bears! As others have mentioned, The Cardinals did move from Chi to St. Louis, then to AZ. They were lousy for a long time and being from Chicago, then to AZ and now NC, I am a Bears fan, I rooted for Cardinals, more because they were local and I had 2 friends playing for them. I don't root for them as much and Saturday I will be rooting for the Panthers to win.

As little additional history on Cards fans, give them a bit of a break. The were the only NFL team to play in a College stadium for nearly 20 years. And to that it wasn't that great of a stadium. They restrcited beer sales, had games in the daytime in the summer and fall and there was no football experience, there was no reason to go unless they were winning. They built a great new stadium, but they put it in Glendale, not the most happening part of town, so again, they haven't built up that experience. Unlike Wrigley, were as bad as the Cubs can be it was just fun going.

Any Cardinals fan now is most definitely a bandwagon fan. The parking lot at the game wasn't even full for a playoff game. Whatever the people in Phoenix are watching it sure isn't football. I have a feeling its futbol.

And the funny part is that if the Cards and Philly wins, the Cards will get another playoff game (I believe). Wonder if the stadium will sell out in that case.

I agree with Wulf. Having people go sit in a crowded outdoor stadium in 100 degree mid day heat doesn't exactly draw the crowds in. Though ASU seemed to pack in the crowds so I don't know.

Default Any Cards BB fans in CLT?

Not to hijack the thread, but are there any Cardinal baseball fans in Charlotte? I know I can't be the only one!

Well College is a bit different, younger patrons don't care as much and the tickets were a lot cheaper. Also students could walk there versus deal witht he nightmare. I also went to ASU and as other colleges you do have rabid fan base from the start. They also played night games on Saturday in Tempe. You could go to a game, then hit Mill Ave. for bars and clubs. I think the Cardinals should have picked the more expensive but better potioned deal off the RIO. Finally and maybe most importantly, they have been a consistant winner, from Frank Kush, Danny White, Jake Plummer, etc.

I'm with you - I cannot hear "Cardinals" without thinking BASEBALL - Cardinals and football???? Just seems weird. And do real cardinals even live in Arizona? This is about as funny as the Jazz being from UTAH, lol!!!
